Handgun Retention, Disarming & Improvised Weapons
Learn simple and effective techniques to retain your handgun from someone determined to take it from you. Develop skills that will function under stress with reality based training and reflex building training drills. Skills developed in this course systematically dovetail with all our other workshop courses. Participants will learn the following:
- Minimizing the opportunities for attempts to take your firearm
- Securing your handgun from frontal, side & rear approaches, in holster and out
- Techniques for standing, kneeling & ground situations
- Disarming and countering disarms
- Increasing the reactionary gap of your opponent
- Immediately identifying & applying ordinary objects as weapons
- Tactics for defense against single and multiple attackers
- Transferable techniques that apply to baton, knife, firearms & more
This course is suitable for responsible civilians, military, law enforcement and security personnel. Sponsored by the Texas Police Association, this course offers 8 Hours of TCLEOSE credit.
The techniques and methods of this course are drawn from the Pekiti Tirsia Kali System, the official program for the Philippine Marine Corps and Philippine National Police. The instructors for this course have have tested and developed the training methods for this workshop teaching military, law enforcement and private citizens in the U.S.A. and overseas.
